Licensing & Refunds

Every product on Techalyst is offered under one or more of the options below. This page explains what each option means and how refunds work. Not every product offers every option, and exactly what's included varies by product. The price, the available options, what each one includes, and any money-back guarantee are shown on that product's price card, which is the definitive source for a given product. All amounts are in Canadian Dollars (CAD), and payments are processed securely by Stripe.

Free Download

The product is available to download at no charge. Since there's no payment, no refund applies.

Buy & Download

A one-time purchase. You pay the full price upfront and get the product immediately, and it's yours to keep.

Try & Own

You pay a reduced one-time price (often much lower than Buy & Download) and get a working installation right away, hosted free on our servers during the ownership period. At the end of that period (shown on the product, for example 6 or 12 months), we hand over the full source code and all of your data (your database, uploaded files, and anything else the product holds), so you can move everything to your own server and run it yourself. That delayed handover is exactly what makes the lower price possible.

• It is a one-time payment, like Buy & Download, just structured differently.
• Any money-back guarantee shown on the price card is the only refund window. It is separate from, and shorter than, the source-unlock period.
• Once that window closes, the purchase is final, even though the source code unlocks later. You cannot use the product for several months and then request a refund.

Subscribe

A recurring plan (monthly or annual) for managed, hosted access, available for as long as you subscribe. You can cancel any time; access continues to the end of the current billing period, with no partial refund for unused time. A subscription may also include a money-back guarantee, which is highlighted on its price card when offered.

What you can do with what you buy

When you buy a product, it's yours to use. You can run it on as many of your own websites and servers as you want, for personal or commercial projects, and modify it for your own needs. The one thing you cannot do is resell it, share it, or list it for sale or download anywhere, or otherwise pass it on to others in a way that competes with us. Use it as much as you like for yourself; just don't resell it. The full terms are in our Terms of Service.

Money-back guarantee

Some products include a money-back guarantee for a set number of days (for example, 14 or 30). When offered, it's highlighted on that product's price card and can apply to any paid option, whether Buy & Download, Try & Own, or Subscribe. Within the window you may request a full refund for any reason. The guarantee is set per product and isn't offered on every product.

Refunds

• If a money-back guarantee is shown on the product's price card, that window is your refund period, so request within it for a full refund.
• After the window closes, or where no guarantee is offered, sales are final, except where a product is materially broken or not as described, or as required by law.
• Subscriptions: cancel any time; no partial refunds for unused time (a money-back guarantee, if offered, still applies within its window).
• Custom engagements are governed by the signed engagement contract.
